Corn & Bean Harvest

After months of praying against drought and pests, the new maize garden produced 700 kilograms—enough to store, grind, and stretch donations for an entire season.

The September 2025 harvest began with Brian's message: "Harvest is in progress." He explained their plan to store most of the maize for up to a year, grinding only what was needed to avoid spoilage. He shared the exact mill cost—$212.29 for 400 kg—so we could see the final step in turning grain into meals.

Brian described how sacks of corn would be kept on raised pallets, with natural pesticides scheduled for week six to prevent insect damage, following the agronomy lessons they'd refined since 2020. This stored cornflour became insurance against future droughts.

Harvest week was a discipleship lab: children helped shuck corn, elders prayed over every basket, and everyone paused to quote John 16:33: "Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Bean totals were still pending, so the focus remained on maize until future reports.

Stewardship snapshot

  • Funds first arrive in FFH's U.S. account.
  • They are then transferred to Stanbic Bank in Uganda via SWIFT wire.
  • Truth Restoration Church elders review and prioritize the children’s needs.
  • Once the needs are identified, they are submitted to FFH for approval.
  • After approval, the agreed-upon items are purchased, and receipts and photos of each purchase are sent back to FFH.
